North Park Presbyterian Church to host candlelight service on Christmas Eve

North Park Presbyterian Church will hold a candlelight service on Christmas Eve on Sunday, Dec. 25.

The church’s Facebook page announced that the service would be exceptional and filled with Christmas carols. They added that they would read Scriptures from the Gospel and meditate on the value of Jesus' birth.

The church encouraged everyone to attend the service regardless if they were believers or just curious about the reason for the season. 

About North Park Presbyterian Church

According to the church’s website, the North Park Presbyterian Church is dedicated to Jesus and His mission. They seek to give glory to God and do good for the world, as the website explains. 

Besides, they mentioned that the church started as a “church plant” in 2014. The pioneers desire to witness people know and love Jesus throughout San Diego, as revealed on the website. 

In addition, they believe that Jesus completed His in the world by proclaiming the gospel and planting churches. Also, North Park Presbyterian church members think Jesus accomplished his mission by loving His neighbors. 

Moreover, the website noted that the church is a Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) member. They said that PCA is a reformed Christian group that values biblical teachings. 

Church’s Leadership

The same website featured Pastor Adriel Sanchez, the lead pastor of North Park Presbyterian Church. They said that after he completed a degree from Westminster Seminary in California, he was ordained in 2013. 

As further noted, Sanchez was an assistant pastor before the North Park Presbyterian Church was planted. They added that he hosts a daily call-in Bible answer program, “Core Christianity,” while pastoring the church.

Sunday Gatherings at North Park Presbyterian Church

In another section, North Park Presbyterian Church noted that it focuses its gathering on community worship. It explained that God extends His gifts to His people primarily through corporate worship. 

The church said it embraces everyone interested in maturing in their faith. They said that people could expect their worship is filled with reverence and awe of God. 

In addition, they mentioned that they are inspired by the ancient liturgies and follow their customs in their worship service. The website emphasized that church regard their service as “Divine Service.”

As further explained, they believe God is joining and serving them through the ministry of word and sacrament.

North Park Presbyterian Church's Community Groups

According to the same website, North Park Presbyterian Church prioritizes the members as a family. They believe they could develop their faith together on Sundays and by meeting weekly. 

The church noted that they share meals, discuss the Bible and pray with each other during their weekly gatherings. 

North Park Presbyterian Church emphasized that they are honored to study God’s word with other brothers and sisters in Jesus. They added that they have Bible studies for both men and women for a particular time. 

The website explains that members can search the scriptures during their Bible studies and allow God’s word to dwell in them. 

As for men's and women’s fellowship, the church offers monthly company for them to build a stronger connection with each other, as noted on the website.
