Rock Church City Heights celebrated its 7th campus anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 4, at the church’s sanctuary.

The church’s Facebook page noted that they had an overflow, a night of extended worship, and called it AnniversaryFlow. They encouraged members to bring their friends and family for an excellent fellowship in the presence of God.

Opening of Rock Church City Heights

The FOX5 San Diego reported on Dec. 1, 2015 that the Rock Church City Heights is the fifth campus of The Rock Church. They noted that they held its ribbon-cutting to celebrate the new campus.

Besides, they announced that the City Heights campus had its grand opening on Dec. 06, 2015.

Moreover, San Deigo Mayor Kevin Faulconer and Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman were present during the event, as revealed in the report.

As further mentioned, the campus at City Heights could accommodate up to 500 churchgoers. Lead Pastor Miles McPherson stressed his anticipation of the church's growth at City Height, as reported on the website.

He added that the city is composed of diverse individuals. McPherson also said that they wanted a church that could be out in the street, assisting people.

He explained that they would send out individuals in the City Heights to impact the community positively in as much as they could.

The FOX5 San Diego revealed that the church had some concerns with neighbors based on increased traffic cases and parking during their Sunday services. But the Rock Church had built an underground parking garage to lessen the problems before the opening of the new location.

They reported that Pastor McPherson pioneered the church in 2000 and has increased its members to 15,000. They emphasized that the Rock Church provides 15 services on Sundays.

In addition, the website highlighted that the church now has five campuses and more than 20 microsites.

City Height’s Renovation

According to the ProSound Web website, Rock Church City Heights renovated its facilities in March 2016. As posted on the website, the campus is in a former dealership for renewable energy cars with multiple glass surfaces.

They noted that this location could be challenging for any audio system to reproduce the word and modern worship services with full band instrumentation.

As further explained on the website, the church and their build integrator, George Clark,  picked a Martin Audio MLA Mini loudspeaker array with CDD speakers for the direct control of the sound.

Clark stated that the Heights is a multi-site church campus with live spoken word and modern worship services. It includes bands with keyboards, drums, guitars, and vocals in an enclosed building.

He added that they were worried when they first saw the room. They realized that the PA would give feedback to the glass wall behind the audience, as further mentioned on the website.

Moreover, Clark said they are fortunate to use the fantastic MLA technology that Martin Audio developed fully.

The same website emphasized that Ron Fulton, The Rock Church’s director of facilities, noted that The Heights Campus provides a “pretty full production between lights, graphics, and sound.”
