Our Mother of Confidence Church joins in the celebration of Memorial Day to honor all those who served their country through a mass on May 30 at 9 a.m. They announced that after the assembly, the church would be closed.
About Church
Mother of Confidence Parish was founded in 1964, as posted on the Welcome Section of their website. Since then, they have grown in numbers to over 1500 registered families. They noted that their community is an alive, loving, and compassionate environment in which to train and live out their faith.
Besides, it is a place where they can worship, they added. They believed that Jesus was the focus of everything they did. In this busy life with work and family responsibilities, the church invites people to take a break and celebrate with them. The website said every weekday, they hold a Service at 8 a.m. and have five-weekend services to meet any busy schedule.
More than Mass
The same section posted that the parish is more than Mass. It is a venue where people can connect through their organizations and ministries. They stated that the church prepared something for everyone, and it is their opportunity to establish lasting relationships. It is where people can mature in their faith through their ongoing faith formation for all ages.
Meanwhile, they also mentioned that it is a place where people can give and serve. They could do this through their practice of being good stewards. They said many individuals say that the church feels like home. The parish believes they are all called to be on a spiritual walk. The website added that it is not where an individual is on that journey but being on the trip itself.
They emphasized that the church welcomes everyone regardless of their sufferings and failures.
Memorial Day 2022
Memorial Day is one of the American holidays. It is celebrated on the last Monday of May to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. Army, as revealed on the History website.
They added that the said event was initially known as Decoration Day. By the end of the Civil War in 1971, it became an official federal holiday. Most Americans observe this holiday by going to cemeteries or memorials.
They hold family meetings and participate in parades. The website mentioned that it marks the start of the summer season unofficially. It was in the spring of 1865 that the war ended.
They revealed that this war claimed more lives than any war in American history, which required the creation of the country’s first national cemeteries. The website added that in the late 1860s, U.S. citizens in various areas started holding springtime tributes to these numerous fallen soldiers. People decorate their graves with flowers and utter prayers.
On May 5, 1868, General John Logan, leader of a group for Northern Civil War veterans, called for a national day of remembrance later that month, as revealed on the website. May 30, 1898, is designed for spraying with flowers or decorating the graves of comrades who died to protect their country.
