The Provision Ministry

They said they distribute food collected from the San Diego Food Bank and local donors. They welcome individuals to be a part of the said ministry every second Thursday of the month.
According to them, they serve because they follow the scripture in John 3:16. Which says, God so loved the world that he gave his Son. Those who believe in Him should not perish but have long-lasting life. They also emphasized that they cannot serve their community without volunteers. So they continue to invite members to join them in blessing their neighborhood with food and joy.
San Diego Food Bank
The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and North Food Bank chapter are composed of the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County, as posted on the organization’s website. Its mission is to give out nutritious food to people in need, advocate for the hungry, and educate the public about issues related to hunger.
Last year, they highlighted that they distributed 63 million pounds of food. Also, the Food Bank serves, on average, 550,000 individuals each month in San Diego County. The North County Food Bank chapter works with 500 non-profit partners to help those in need.
Diaper Bank Program
One of the organization’s programs is the Diaper Bank Program to help parents living in poverty. They stated that former Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez-Fletcher inspired the Food Bank. She looks for solutions to a problem many of her low-income constituents face.
Gonzalez-Fletcher shared the story of a single mother who could get off Food stamps by getting a job. The single mother was fit for sponsored daycare. But she must provide several diapers a day for her child’s care, or they would not allow her child. She struggles to buy the diapers, misses workdays, loses her job, and falls back into the poverty trap, said on the website.
The Food Bank works with some nonprofit groups to distribute diapers throughout San Diego to help solve the crucial needs of young parents living in poverty, the website added.
