Rock Church invites members to attend church's medical outreach ministry

Rock Church encouraged its congregation to join the Rock Medical Outreach Ministry meetings every other Monday night.

According to the church’s announcement, the last agenda item of the meeting on Monday, Aug. 8, was to inform members about the church’s medical outreach. They also discussed Walking With Jesus in the Healthcare Devotional book.

As noted on the website, the Medical Outreach Ministry is committed to giving life and healing to others. Rock Church believed they were created to extend the kingdom and carry others’ loads by helping others mature in their journey with the Lord.

Members of this ministry extend love and hope to others in their shelters, workplace, and neighborhood.

Kingdom Healers

In addition, the Rock Medical Outreach Ministry also calls themselves “Kingdom Healers.” It is because they seek to provide medical care and help vulnerable individuals who need spiritual and physical healing.

Meanwhile, the Rock Church members are also dedicated to establishing their community. They noted that God called them to be a family in Christ. With this, the outreach holds social programs that could help them reach the community.

The events include hiking, eating lunch and dinner, and having bonfires. They also host programs on the beach.

The website said the church is inviting their neighborhood to attend educational seminars. The church is also conducting spiritual workshops.

Studying Walking With Jesus in Healthcare

The church said that members are currently studying the book Walking With Jesus in Healthcare. Amaryllis Sanchez Wohlever writes the book.

The Amazon Website revealed that it is a 120-day devotional for all who work to heal others. These people include doctors and nurses. Chaplains, therapists, students, etc., could also read the book.

As further explained, it is for those helping others cope with their physical and spiritual pain.

The same website said that the realization of Dr. Mari in the Gospel of Luke provides a message that could change medical workers and caregivers. In the book, the author noted that simple prayer for the patient could change the doctor’s experience caring for the sick.

More Than Just Healing

As further mentioned in the book, doctors could turn the typical doctor-patient relationship into a more profound connection of sharing pain and comfort. They added that they could feel that Jesus’ love and compassion were present.

Through these encounters with the patient, the book said that doctors could also have a new experience related to healing and living.

In addition, the website invites readers to join doctors and the Great Healer to learn how to care for individuals genuinely. In this book, the website mentioned that people in the medical field could learn to follow Jesus as the healer.

Besides, the website stated that they could learn to serve out of God’s providence and the power of the Spirit. They added that as medical practitioners and caregivers study the book, they would feel that they are not alone in this journey.
