Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego invites married parishioners to attend Celebrating Your Love Day, a one-day marriage formation retreat on July 30 at Saint Mark’s Catholic Church.

The church’s website announced that this event could allow couples to reflect deeply on their relationship with God and their vocation to the sacrament of marriage.

Celebrate Love Diocesan Day

On another webpage, the church noted that the event is a marriage preparation retreat every Saturday. All couples, together with their mentors, gear up for the sacrament of marriage. Besides, engaged couples would feel the vocation to the wedding and understand the sacrament deeper.

They also emphasized that through this, couples could have the strength to say “I do” not just once but every day after that.

The website also recommends that couples seek their marriage preparation minister's advice before joining any marriage formation program.

Family Life and Spirituality

The event is part of the church’s Family Life and Spirituality program. Their section revealed that Pope Francis told the church the most beautiful thing God made was the family. The church added that their office works to help the lives and spirituality of today’s families at all stages.

They are building their faith at home and in the church itself.

Moreover, the Family Life & Spirituality ministry works with parishes and apostolic movements to support and empower the family. They added that it is the basic unit of society and the Church. The church witnesses the beauty and realism of the Catholic vision for marriage and family life as they strengthen them for evangelization.

The church is focused on marriage formation and development. They also prioritize spirituality and resources for hurting families. They also deal with pastoral assistance for the divorced. They mentioned that all their efforts fall under the umbrella of establishing and empowering the domestic church.

Sacrament of Marriage

The St. Joseph Catholic Church’s website explained that the Sacrament of Marriage is an apparent sign of God’s love for the Church. They stated that when a man and a woman are married in the church, they have the grace needed for a lifetime bond of unity.

Besides, they noted that marriage is a special sacrament that connects one man and one woman in a special commitment under God and His church. They said it is a vocational sacrament to respond to a particular calling that God has put in the hearts of a couple.

They added that it is a connection that lasts for life that is unchangeable, faithful, and fruitful. Marriage is not just about two individuals but the foundation of the family and the “domestic church.” This union is the most basic and foundational structure. It is for the church and society, as posted on the website.

The sacrament of marriage is a covenantal bond, as posted on their website. It is the image of the vows between God and his people through Abraham and Moses. They stated that man could never destroy divine commitment.

With this, they said that marriage is a union that connects spouses throughout their lifetime.
