As part of the church’s goal to make the congregation’s summer impact, The Church at RB will be helping in North County Lifeline's mission by packing Care packs for homeless teenagers on June 29 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The church announcement noted that the goal of the North County Lifeline is to create self-reliance among young people, adults, and families. They want to achieve this mission through giving high-quality and community-based initiatives.

They added that the care packs include sleeping bags, jet boilers, food, etc.

They told members to influence others this summer by joining various events hosted by the church. They could sign up to serve those in need across their city. The website revealed that those programs assist homeless individuals. These efforts include military families, teachers, and more.

Church’s Impact

People tend to ask where God is in this hurting; that is when The Church at RB comes in, as posted on the church’s impact report for 2021. They said they are the community that rises above, works, and makes people see that there is God.

The church noted that making people learn that God exists is what they want to happen. They say that it is a part of their DNA. The church calls it a "Good Neighbor."

The approach deeply creates life, as posted on their website.

North County Lifeline

The North County Lifeline website is a human services organization that helps low-income and vulnerable populations in San Diego County. They said that Lifeline helps more than 5,000 people in their neighborhood annually. They assist them through programs that are clinically and proven based. The said group centers on positive youth progress and child abuse prevention.

Besides, they assist domestic violence and have insufficient housing. The organization also serves those with behavioral health issues, human trafficking victims, and survivors.

Youth Development

The Youth Development section stated that this program deals with the needs of youth. They also help their families with progressive services. These projects keep at-risk young people on the right track and help juvenile delinquents stop the cycle of poverty and violence.

Moreover, the organization offers prevention and intervention initiatives. They have mental and behavioral health activities. They create youth support systems that focus on healthy and safe daily living.

The same webpage revealed that Lifeline’s Youth Development has helped reduce juvenile detention figures in San Diego County. The organization supports the County’s Juvenile Justice Comprehensive Strategy, as noted on the website.

They said assisting at-risk teenagers in avoiding trouble and getting out of custody is their highest priority with the approach. The group also focuses on the complex needs of young adults in charge or on probation.

The San Diego County District Attorney, Summer Stephan, said the approach had impacted a reduction of 48% in juvenile incarceration from 2012 to 2017.

Meanwhile, the website said the families can enrich their skills and become self-dependent with housing and financial aid.

Stephan said they achieved their goal with a partnership with North County Lifeline. They saw other causes of mental health problems, chemical addiction, and family destruction.
