This year’s Mother’s Day, The Rock Church takes an intentional time to honor the amazing mothers in their church community in all their campus locations on May 8.

According to the church’s announcement,  they would celebrate in various ways, such as giving out unique gifts and flowers. They would also conduct photo ops and would give away donuts. The church added that mothers could expect more than those.

Every campus would have a different way of honoring mothers, but the essential part is that the church wants all moms to feel loved and appreciated.

Great Mothers in Bible

The church website also highlighted that their mothers' care and wisdom nurtured many before the biblical heroes split the Red Sea or walked on water. Moses, as an example, had two mothers who saw to his care and victory. They added that her mother-in-law, Naomi, significantly raised Ruth.

More importantly, the church emphasized Jesus, who was likely taught most about being a faithful Jewish man from His mother, Mary.

Mother who Waited in Bible

As posted on the Crosswalk website, some women in the Bible obeyed God as He called them for a mission. Some of them served sacrificially and built a faithful life for their family.

One of these women is Sarah, the mother who waited. The article mentioned that she was not able to conceive. They said not having the ability to bear a child could disappoint her and Abraham. The couple waited for 15 years before the Lord renewed His promise, the website revealed. They stayed for another ten years before God fulfilled the said promise, and Sarah gave birth to her son, Isaac.

The website quoted that Sarah would not have an award for waiting, and even if she laughed at the idea that God could do what He said, God still fulfilled His promise according to His plan. They noted that Sarah tried to hold on to the promise, but she had doubles until it finally came true.

Mother Blessed Wmong Women

Another great mother the website featured was Mary. She was a virgin committed to a man named Joseph, but in Luke 1:31, it says the angel Gabriel visited her. Mary wondered how this could be in reality that the angel told her that the Holy Spirit would come to her and the power of the Highest would cover her so that she would bear a child who will be called the Son of God.

Meanwhile, Mary embraced these words in her faith and visited Elizabeth, her cousin. Elizabeth proclaimed that Mary is blessed among women because God chose her to bear and nurture His son. The website mentioned that Mary cherished many things in her heart as she raised Jesus. But they said that Mary also had to suffer from the most significant sacrifice her Son had to make for humanity. She watched Jesus suffer, be tortured and mocked, and die on the cross.
