United Church of Christ (UCC) invited pastors and lay leaders to attend the Annual Pledge Campaign 101 on Wednesday, Aug. 24, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time via Zoom meeting.
The church posted that they would discover methods to make an influential campaign. They also added that during the seminar, they would learn the fundamental reasons for a drive.
The seminar would also share helpful steps for leaders, as further mentioned on the website. Church leaders would also learn creative inputs to design a campaign that fits their congregation.
United Church of Christ encouraged church leaders to join the webinar to enrich and empower their plans for effective advocacy this fall.
United Church of Christ as Church of Firsts
The church’s “About” section said that UCC was the first white denomination church to ordain an African-American leader in history. As further revealed, UCC stated they were the first church to appoint a woman.
In addition, they claimed to be the first church to accept an openly gay male. They added that UCC is the first church to confirm that same-sex marriage is acceptable among all Christian churches.
According to the same webpage, UCC members are front liners of anti-slavery campaigns. They are also part of Civil Rights advocacy.
UCC stressed that its initiatives are rooted in its country’s history. The church said its many “firsts” were inherited from the culture of taking their faith into action.
Different but United Community
The church’s website mentioned that UCC is a group of Christians who are unique and diverse. These believers gather together as one church to live their faith.
Also, UCC highlighted that they have more than five thousand churches in the United States. The website revealed that UCC has approximately one million members across the nation. They noted that they serve God to create a fair and sustainable world.
Church Leaders attending Seminars
The National Institute of Christian Leadership (NICL) website exposed why pastors or church leaders need to join conferences and seminars.
According to the NICL website, church shepherds should always find ways to grow. They said that attending seminars and conferences are opportunities for them to pursue their goal.
As further explained, attending informative events could empower pastors’ leadership skills. They could also discover new talents through these gatherings.
The website emphasized that conferences are excellent venues for pastors and leaders. They could listen to other leaders’ ideas and perspectives.
Moreover, they could learn valuable and related advice that they could apply in their leadership. Seminars could help pastors and church leaders mature as leaders and people, as mentioned on the website.
Another benefit of joining conferences is gaining new connections, the website said. It is a place where pastors and leaders can meet those they already know and also a place to learn new faces.
The website noted that being with like-minded leaders can be an inspiration for other church leaders. As further explained on the website, attending seminars could be a chance to know that others could understand their struggles and experiences.
