Wave Church women are invited to join and experience The Encounter Tour by Lysa TerKeurst, a speaker and author, on May 18 at 7 p.m. at Spring Valley.

The church’s announcement quoted her website saying that this one-night fellowship would help women pursue healing as they open up about their difficult situations. During this event, they mentioned that they would study the word of God deeper to lean in. Participants would also experience fun and be reminded that God is not done with them yet.
Women are encouraged to join to feel seen and heard through prayer, worship, and study. They also noted that they would feel a community and belongingness at this gathering evening.

Besides, the church announced that there is a beautiful connection that women could experience while gathering amidst the suffering each one has. They featured Mack Brock as he would lead the worship during the said gathering, so the church encouraged women members to invite their friends.

The tickets are available online, and those interested could contact Chandler if they want to carpool, as noted in the church’s announcement. They also said that more details would be available in their weekly newsletter.

Getting to Know Lysa

According to the Lysa TerKeurst website, TerKeurst could be found at her home with her Bible and journal, writing on her gray table. She could also be with her family, playing games and having a good time over shared meals.

TerKeurst said that some think she is an extrovert, she loves being with people, but she gets reenergized in her alone time. She added that having a silent moment of reflection could also recharge her strength. She prays, dreams, grieves, process, and think about anything in her home sincerely.

Hardest Part of Her Story

“Home is where I’ve been broken and been put back together.” - TerKeurst revealed.

On her website, she shared the most challenging part of her life. She stated that she is aware of the depths of marital heartbreak and what it feels like to fight through healing. She also noted that she knows the feeling of having cancer and asked God why He would let this so much pain.

TerKeurst shared moments when her pillows were filled with tears but realized how God moves in His unique ways. She said that it is not always how she thought He would do. The writer guessed that it is why she is called to follow Him and have faith in Him.

Besides, at the end of her day, she stated that people would see her praying thankfully for experiencing God’s faithfulness, no matter how big or small it is. Terkeurst hoped that every fiber of her heart could remove the painful parts of her story. But being stuck trying to expect something to go away would cause her to miss the beauty of life and trust God with what life could be.

TerKeurst also mentioned that her five children are grown and have their own families. She spends most of her time with them at home or on the beach. She stated that being a mother never ends, no matter how big their kids are.
