GIVEN Women's Conference is scheduled on Jan. 29 in Star of the Sea Church from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The cost for attending is $75. The GIVEN Institute organized this conference for women.
GIVEN Women's Conference
The Diocese of San Francisco calls on every woman to join GIVEN and Star of the Sea Church for a Bay Area GIVEN gathering. As stated on the diocese's events page, this gathering welcomes women of all ages.
It will preview what GIVEN is about and give a chance to listen to inspirational speakers. The talk aims to make women realize the gifts they have, appreciate themselves, and respond with the unique gift they are given.
GIVEN Women's Conference will feature speakers – Sr. Elizabeth John, OP, Kathleen Domingo, and Sarah Ku.
The GIVEN Institute

As per its website, GIVEN is a non–profit organization. It is committed to nurturing the gifts of young adult women for serving the Catholic community and the world. The organization inspires and empowers future female leaders to accept the gift they are, acknowledge the gifts they've been given and respond with the gift that only they can give."
GIVEN's advocacy is accomplished through faith formation, mentoring, and leadership training. It nurtures women for mission and life.
Its signature event is the Catholic Young Women's Leadership Forum. This one is an annual event that gathers young adult women from across the U.S for a five–day forum.
Star of the Sea Church
Star of the Sea Parish location is 4420 Geary Blvd. San Francisco, CA 94118. Father Joseph Illo is the pastor of Star of the Sea Parish. Father Michael Konopik is the Parochial Vicar, and Dean Albert Nimri is the Parish Manager.
Star of the Sea Marian Shrine
The church is building a Shrine to Our Lady of the Rosary, as stated on its website. According to the church, this is made possible through the blessings of the Archbishop of San Francisco, Salvatore Cordileone.
These are 16 shrines along the east and west walls of the parish. The shrines will portray most of the apparitions of Our Lady throughout history.
Every shine will feature a 48 – inch image of the apparition, candles, and kneelers for devotions. The shrines will also feature a pamphlet containing facts about the apparition and most vital words of Our Lady's message at that time.
The shrines are in progress with small images of each apparition with devotional candles. By the summer of 2022, this church project will be completed.
Star of the Sea Church invites everyone to come and see the shrine located five minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge at 4420 Geary Blvd., San Francisco, California.
The church also actively prays the Rosary. As stated on its webpage, the church prays the Rosary in the community after Mass. The schedule for Rosary is Mon. – Fri. at 7 a.m., 12 noon, and 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, praying the Rosary every Saturday happens at 8:30 a.m. and 12 noon. Finally, on Sundays at 11 a.m.
