This October, the All Saints' Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Georgia, has called for participants to join the Labyrinth Walks.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Oct. 7, they announced that the Labyrinth Walks returned for the rest of October.

The church invited interested participants to join the scheduled walks this Sunday evening, Oct. 10, in the Kennedy Courtyard from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

According to the All Saints' Episcopal, walking in the twisting path of the Labyrinth is a meditative ritual.

The Atlanta church explained that it could be envisioned as a metaphor in reflecting the passage through one's own life with its recurring corners.

It added that it must be encountered one step at a time.

An opening and closing prayer will be held during the walks, according to the church.

The church also said that the participants might feel free to drop in, allowing 15 minutes to walk.

Meanwhile, each walk is led by a trained facilitator, and a guest musician will offer live music for the event, it added.

Labyrinth Walks' Schedule

According to the All Saints' Episcopal Church's website, the Labyrinth Walks will be open every Sunday. The event is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on October 10, 17, 24, and 31.

From Oct. 10 and 31, the event will be held in Kennedy Courtyard, the All Saints stated.

Meanwhile, it added that the event on Oct. 17 and 24 will be held in the attic on the 3rd floor of the Pritchett Children's Center.

The All Saints' Episcopal Church underscored that no pre-registration is needed.

Progressive, Traditional

According to the church's website, the All Saints' Episcopal Church is an active, progressive Christian community with roots in the Episcopal Church.

Members are encouraged to continue on their spiritual path, it stated.

The church encourages dialogue and celebrates diversity to better know, love, and serve God and neighbors.

In Midtown Atlanta, the church has resonated the city's energy and creates a calm haven where the beauty and vitality of worship services and music nourish the soul.

The website stated that its church community values profound connection and the opportunity to grow and serve with zeal in their ways.

The church also paid tribute to the All Saints' unwavering devotion to the community.

According to the All Saints' Episcopal, love, dignity, and mutual respect are the foundations of the core ministries that work with former refugees, children, persons facing homelessness, and those struggling with addiction.

Today, All Saints' church stands as a sturdy beacon in Atlanta and worldwide, striving for justice and peace for all people.

LGBTQ+ Inclusion

According to its website, by the mid-1980s, the All Saints' church had earned a reputation for welcoming LGBT people and ministering to AIDS patients with compassion.

Since 2004, the clergy has officiated same-sex unions (followed by marriage, once legal), as well as the baptisms of innumerable children of same-sex parents, the church said.

Today, LGBTQ+ people can be found in leadership positions in the parish, among the employees, and among the clergy, it added.

The diverse tapestry of persons and families that call All Saints' home enriches the church greatly.
