Warm and Nurturing Environment

According to the First Presbyterian Preschool of Atlanta's website, it is an institution of warm and nurturing learning environment located in the center of midtown Atlanta.

The school was founded in 1946, the website further stated.

The Atlanta First Presbyterian said its preschool is the oldest and continuously operating preschool in Georgia.

Young students explore their interests and express their ideas through projects and play, which was an approach that supports the "Regio Emilia" inspired and project-based curriculum, the school's website shared.

Meanwhile, the First Presbyterian Preschool underscored that the teachers and staff members expressed commitment in developing enthusiasm for learning and knowledge.

A warm and open classroom and space have fostered creativity and encouraged interaction and communication among the preschool students.

The preschool's midtown location also allows access to many prestigious programs offered by the neighborhood community, it added.

The school has also created partnerships with the High Museum, Alliance Theatre, MODA, and the Atlanta Public Library.

Educational Support

According to its website, the First Presbyterian Preschool has created a partnership with the Adaptive Learning Center (ALC) in 2006 to provide an Inclusive Preschool Program.

The website stated that the Presbyterian preschool serves children with disabilities and special needs in the classrooms through the said partnership.

The children participate fully in the school activities with the support from special education facilitators provided by the ALC.

Meanwhile, the school's "Haven" is a multi-sensory room designed for the benefit of all the students.

The Atlanta Presbyterian Preschool said the students would enjoy the Haven as another physical activity area and get the wiggles out on rainy days.

The preschool underscored that the Haven is an excellent addition to First Presbyterian classrooms and a very popular space for the children to romp and play, utilized for occupational therapy.

The Presbyterian Preschool has partnered with Talk Time for Kids, a local group of pediatric speech-language therapists and occupational therapists.

The school said it arranges to screen for children in the twos, threes, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten classes.

In addition, it also allowed a limited number of students to participate in on-site speech-language therapy and occupational therapy before, during, or after the school day, the preschool added.

Meanwhile, Prevent Blindness Georgia provides vision screening for preschool pre-kindergarten students. The said service is free of charge, according to the school.
