Atlanta Jesuit High school to feature distinguished business leaders in a seminar

The Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School in Atlanta, Georgia, is set to feature distinguished business leaders from diverse industries in a speaker’s series seminar.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Sept. 30, the Atlanta Jesuit High school announced that the Cristo Rey Speaker series 2021 to 2022 will feature distinguished business leaders from diverse industries throughout the Atlanta metro.

The Jesuit high school Facebook post mentioned that the Cristo Rey Atlanta speaker series will start on Wednesday, Oct. 6, until April 28 next year.

The Atlanta Jesuit High school said the first speaker series on Wednesday will start at 7:30 a.m. featuring Ryan Wilson, chief executive officer (CEO) and co-founder of The Gathering Spot.

According to its website, The Gathering Spot features connected series crafted communities that serve as hubs for partnership, connections, and experiences in the cities.

The website stated that connected member cities will receive invitations to members-only experiences and access to The Gathering Spot clubs and exclusive digital chats and workshops.

The second speaker series is scheduled on Thursday, Nov. 11, featuring Deborah Wheeler of Delta Air Lines. The third series will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 14, featuring Chris Womack, CEO of Georgia Power, the Atlanta Jesuit High school shared on its Facebook post.

Meanwhile, Peter Muniz, vice president and deputy general counsel of The Home Depot, is scheduled to talk on Jan. 19 next year, the Jesuit school said.

Next year, the school said the scheduled talks will be Ivan Shammas, general manager of Telemundo, who will share a discussion on Feb. 16, while Christian Charnaux of Inspire Brands will be the speaker on March 22.

It added that Deisha Barnett, UPS vice president of strategic communications, will be the closing speaker in the series on April 28 next year.

Atlanta Jesuit High school Students Feature Mental health Films

The Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School students have sponsored a film that features topics on suicide and mental illness to raise awareness on the Suicide Prevention Month, according to the school’s Facebook post.

The Atlanta Jesuit High school said the students for life and counseling department had sponsored a night at the movies featuring “Dear Evan Hansen,” according to its Facebook post on Monday, Sept. 27.

Meanwhile, the school said the film event had raised awareness on the importance of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month for high school students.

The Jesuit high school also said that the film “Dear Evan Hansen” features suicide and mental illness topics, among others.

At least 40 students and faculty members had a great time during the film screening and reflected on the critical and relevant topic, the Atlanta Jesuit High school said.

Catholic Learning Community

According to its Facebook page, the Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School is an institution of the Catholic learning community that educates the young minds to limited economic means, and of any fair or creed, to become men and women with other people.

The school said the students would go through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum and integrate relevant work-study experience in college and life.
