Big Bethel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church will hold the 149th Atlanta North Georgia annual conference for its members and attendees from Wednesday to Friday, May 10 to 12. The church also opened the event to the public.
According to the church's announcement page, pre-conference activities will begin on YPD and RAYAC Day on Saturday, May 6, while DMC Ceremonies will be on Sunday, May 7, and WMS Annual Day on May 9.
The annual conference will open on Wednesday, May 10, and culminate on Friday, May 12, the post reads.
Rev. John Foster, Ph.D., and the church staff, officers, and members will welcome everyone as the conference host.
The church assured its attendees they would make the conference a pleasant experience for everyone.
"We hope to show each attendee that Big Bethel is still the Preeminent Religious Presence of the Auburn/ Edgewood Corridor in Atlanta, Georgia, that has proclaimed for 175 years that Jesus Saves," Foster said in the invitation.
He reminded the participants to download and read the information carefully and respond promptly to ensure that their hotel rooms, journal ads, video commercials, and vendor participation would exceed their expectations.
Foster added, "Atlanta is a Historic and trendy tourist location, so contact the hotel of your choice without delay."
Big Bethel AME Church
Big Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church is the mother church of African Methodism in Atlanta, Georgia. It preaches Christianity and proclaims that "Jesus Saves," per its about page.
2027 Vision
By 2027, the church intends to have an online membership comparable to its ground membership. It should be mentioned that Big Bethel should continue to practice "blended" worship, the vision section reads.
Furthermore, Big Bethel aims to progress in worship technology. The page revealed that this leadership would ensure the members' readiness for unknown upcoming difficulties.
Christian Education
All ministries are built on the foundation of Christian education. The site said that Christian education is crucial because it educates individuals to include God in all they do.
Youth
The focus on young people will now shift to leadership development. This can be done by purposefully getting more involved in connectional AME and ecumenical activities outside Big Bethel, the page bared.
However, the site reads the challenge for young adults in the future will be to fortify their ties to the nearby colleges and other young adult ministries in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area.
Adults, Seniors
Senior Saints have been successfully gathered through the Big Bethel Senior ministry, and their needs have been met. The page said that a pastor who has been assigned to serve senior citizens, in particular, is needed for this ministry.
Community Outreach
The community outreach ministries include Bethel/Trinity Partnership, Bethel Village Outreach, Richard Allen Outreach Center, Saturday School Institute, and Social Action are all a blessing to Big Bethel, per the vision page.
It added that each time these outreach ministries set their objectives and guidelines based on internal and external factors.
Economic Development
Over the next seven years, the economic development pillar has several objectives, the site bared.
It includes paying off the mortgage on the Sanctuary building, finishing the Bethel Towers Ministry Space, constructing and utilizing the Family Life Center, and advancing the campus master plan, the page said.
