Buckhead Church announced that they will open registration for the Racial Reconciliation Group on Sunday, Feb. 26.

The church’s website posted that it would be a ten-week small group conversation that would strengthen members to fill the gap toward racial reconciliation.

Conversation on Racial Reconciliation

According to the website, Buckhead Church values deeply about discussions related to the racial resolution.

They explained that through their experience, members have proven that they are better at loving and caring for individuals when they allot time leaning in their ways and hearing their stories.

Moreover, the church desires that its members would grow, learn, and navigate relationships better through these materials about racial reconciliation and experiences.

Buckhead Church emphasized that they believe there is a chance to make the world a better place.

Resources on Race

In another section, the church emphasized Andy Stanley’s statement that if people fail to listen to others who experience the world they do, they will never carry their heavy loads.

On this website, Buckhead Church posted videos for members to watch. These short clips are about races, such as This Human Race, Skin in the Game, and Talking to Kids About Race.

Besides, they also offered videos on personal stories about racism. They also posted various books on race and racism.

According to the website, some materials are focused on historical education. At the same time, other resources are about prescriptive, editorial, or fictional stories. They added that there is a wide range of voices included.

More importantly, they noted that some references are expressed from a Christian perspective while others are not. The church stated that all resources offer opportunities to listen and learn.

Serving as Bridge

One of the books they recommended is Latasha Morrison, Be the Bridge: Pursuing God’s Heart for Racial Reconciliation. The Amazon website revealed that this book received the Chrisitan Book Award and a New York Times Bestseller.

As further highlighted, the book also got the ECPA Bestseller. Jen Hatmaker emphasized that Morrison is undoubtedly the best teacher regarding the combination of race, privilege, justice, and the church.

Moreover, they stated that Be the Bridge won the Christianity Today Book Award. They added that it is a leading campaign for racial reconciliation, calling Believers to step forward for deeper understanding amidst a divisive culture.

Honest Conversation

According to the book, change starts with a genuine conversation among a group of Christians willing to be the voice of unspoken hurts. They said it would begin when Believers voiced hidden fears and mounting tensions.

The website pointed out that these ongoing conversations have created the foundation of a global movement called Be the Bridge. They stated that it is a nonprofit group that seeks to train the church to have a particular and transformative action against racism and racial division.

As further discussed, Morrison demonstrates how people could participate in this great initiative and remodel it in their community. They added that with her discernment and grace, she analyzes the historical conflicts of racism.

In addition, they noted that she expertly implemented biblical principles like lamentation, confession, and forgiveness. They said that she wanted to lay the framework for restoration.
