The Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, has asked for volunteers in delivering refreshments in the neighborhood every Sunday.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Sept. 23, the Central Presbyterian Church announced that the Central's Courtyard Ministry is seeking volunteers to join every Sunday in the Atlanta neighborhood.
According to the church's post, every Sunday, the local mission and faithful Central members will provide refreshment with the neighborhood downtown.
The Central Presbyterian Church said the volunteers are scheduled to arrive at 8:30 a.m. to set up or drop off food and refreshments along with the neighborhood and must be done by 9:45 p.m., the church wrote on its Facebook post.
The church underscored that the current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended coronavirus disease (COVID-19) safety protocols will be observed during the event.

Activities on-site Temporarily Suspended
According to the Central Presbyterian Church's website, due to COVID-19, all of the activities on-site have been halted.
The website stated that participants could find ways to connect and stay engaged by visiting the connect, learning, and worship pages.
The church said when the time is appropriate, participants may look forward to reopening the doors.
The Central's sanctuary, built in the 1880s and is on the National Register of Historic Places, is a favorite wedding venue.
The website says the church also offers several classrooms, the historic Rand Chapel, and other facilities that groups use for various events throughout the year.
The chapel is a popular venue for lectures, courses, and performances because of its proximity to the state Capitol, it added.
United in Welcoming and Serving
According to the church's website, Central Presbyterian Church, located in historic downtown Atlanta, is a welcoming and serving community.
The church and lay leaders reflect a varied cross-section of Atlanta's community, and the church thrives in outreach, serving, and spreading God's love to individuals of all ethnic, gender, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds, it added.
While Sunday mornings are an important time for us to worship together, the church's reach extends well beyond its doors, as the congregation is involved in a variety of outreach activities ranging from homelessness missions to arts and cultural events, its website stated.
According to the church, Rev. John M. Semmes has been appointed as the interim pastor at Central.
Semmes, a lifelong Presbyterian, has served as an interim pastor and head of staff at both Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church in Raleigh and Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, the church said.
He formerly served as pastor and head of staff at First Presbyterian Church in Oxford, Mississippi (2004-2018) and as associate pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Kentucky (2001-2004), according to the church's website.
Pastor John preached his first sermon on Aug. 8, it added.
