Urban Church

According to the church's website, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta was founded in 1848.

The website stated that the chapel is located near the Woodruff Center for the Arts on Peachtree and 16th Street.

The First Presbyterian Church members said it is a leading urban church in worship, spiritual education, service, community relations, and the arts.

According to the statement, the Presbyterian church was home to many families who contributed to the city's growth, and the church also commemorated significant anniversaries.

Church's Worship, Events

The church said that individuals interested in worshiping online should visit the First Presbyterian Church website's live stream page, homepage, or every Sunday page.

The new calendar of events, according to the church, will contain everything the church has to offer, from weekly Sunday services to concerts and small groups.

Meanwhile, church members will update the event description with information on the virtual event's attendance.

Each event is also assigned to a category, such as "worship," "education," or "Sunday School," which will aid in the advertising of various activities on the website.

The High Museum of Art, Atlanta Design Museum, Union Theater, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, and other local art institutions, according to the church, are all within walking distance.

The church offers concerts and activities regularly as a result of these connections.

Unique Historical Architecture

According to a Facebook post, the First Presbyterian Church has also installed a national register plaque to commemorate the church's distinctive historical architecture.

The national register plaque was installed last week, according to the post.

The plaque's inclusion in the national record, according to the post, is a monument to the cathedral's unique historical architecture and collection of exceptional stained glass windows.

According to the First Presbyterian Church, the plaque results from years of work by various people, including members and the Archives and History Committee personnel.

Bill Lyons, Moncure Crowder, Susan Daugherty, Cheryl Hughes, Rebekah LeMon, and Craig Anderson have all thanked the Atlanta Presbyterian Church for their knowledge and commitment to the project.

The website stated that the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta was listed to the National Register of Historic Places on May 29, 2020.
