Fishburne Parking Deck, Children Read Atlanta

Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church held a book fair on Saturday, Oct. 22. It added there were teacher wish lists.

The Usborne Book Fair was accessible online until Thursday, Oct. 27, the church stated.

It was reported that Children Read Atlanta continued to gather used books up until the opening in order to make room for the new books.

The church said in the same statement that parking was also available in the Fishburne Parking Deck on the Emory Campus.

According to the church, before 9:30 a.m., Fishburne Lane at the traffic circle was not accessible from the Fishburne deck. Thus, it could only be used as the race's beginning or finishing line prior to that moment.

Before 9:30 a.m., people, according to the church, can travel from the structure east to the Fishburne Parking Deck.

According to the church, they can take Decatur and get off at Clifton Road.

Service, Volunteerism

The establishment of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church as a United Methodist congregation is credited to John Wesley, an Anglican minister working for the Church of England in the 1700s.

The church claimed that its members' steadfast attendance at religious services and volunteerism were the reasons for the expansion of "Methodist" organizations.

The societies eventually reached America, where the church formally recognized them as a separate denomination in 1784.

The number of United Methodists worldwide is estimated at 11 million, according to Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church.

They noted that for United Methodists, faith and social responsibility have always been intertwined.

The church gave more instances of how it engages with various Christian religions and supports an ecumenical tradition, such as its partnerships with Emory University's Office of Spirituality and Religious Life.
