Inman Park United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia hosted “Trunk or Treat.”
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Oct. 18, the church said registration was open until Tuesday, Oct. 18.
According to the church, they celebrate in the parking lot every Halloween to play games, decorate their cars, and enjoy costumes.
The church said they may use the link in the newsletter to sign up to distribute candy from their trunk or from a location near their trunk.
Additionally, anyone can volunteer to set up, face-paint, operate the photo booth, or assist with cleanup, the church said.
Church’s Roots
Inman Park United Methodist Church was founded in 1866 and is situated in Inman Park, the city of Atlanta's first "garden suburb."
One of Atlanta's oldest communities was established prior to it, claims the church.
The church asserted that the structure was dedicated on April 17, 1898. The church claims that Willis Franklin Denny II used Stone Mountain granite to build the well-known "castle" home close to the intersection of Peachtree Street and West Peachtree. He also had control over Rhodes Hall.
The First United Methodist Church and St. Mark United Methodist Church were also built by Denny in addition to other well-known Atlanta landmarks.
COVID-19 Protocols
Everyone, regardless of age, is required to wear a mask inside the church and during worship due to COVID-19, according to the church's website.
The church asserted that it also promotes social isolation and forbids any further mingling during or after worship.
Due to its embrace of Jesus' teaching that everyone is accepted and loved by God, the Inman Park Church sees inclusion as a crucial quality.
Everyone is encouraged to participate actively in the life and leadership of the congregation, the church declared, regardless of age, color, ethnicity, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, marital status, legal status, or financial circumstances.
It added everyone is welcome to engage, develop, and serve here because everyone is a child of God, regardless of who they are or where they are from.
The whole public is invited to attend in person, on Facebook pages, or via YouTube at 11 a.m.
Participants can email Pastor Tara with any prayer requests at pastor@inmanparkumc.com.
Additionally, the church advises anyone wishing to donate to the Inman Park missions to go to www.inmanparkumc.org and click the green "Give" button in the upper right.
The church claimed that both its Facebook and YouTube pages receive simultaneous live streams of its worship services from the sanctuary. The church claims that until Monday, it will also be available on the Worship page.
They mix secular and Christian music, according to Inman Park United Methodist Church, and while formal attire is not needed, wearing pants is strongly recommended.
