The Morningside Presbyterian Church held music, games, and devotional sessions in the playground for kids every Tuesday night.

The church stated that it would host energizers, devotionals, play, and missions for kids every Tuesday night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The sessions will be held at the Morningside Presbyterian Church's playground, the church stated on its website.

According to the Morningside Presbyterian Church, after the sessions, the church's staff will serve a picnic dinner before pick up.

The church said each session would be age group-specific so that every Morningside Presbyterian Church children member will get to participate each month.

Facemasks are optional outdoors, the church assured.

However, the Morningside Presbyterian Church added that the children would be asked to bring a facemask if the sessions were moved indoors due to the inclement weather.

According to the church, preschoolers to 2nd-grade students will be scheduled for the sessions every first Tuesday of the month.

Meanwhile, the church said that the 2nd-grade to 5th-grade students would be scheduled every second Tuesday of the month.

Church's Friendly Hikes for Toddlers

The Morningside Presbyterian Church has also held a nice stroller walk for toddlers and parents in the Mason Mill Park and South Peachtree Creek trail last Saturday, Sept. 25.

The parents were encouraged to bring packed meals and snacks for toddlers to enjoy the playground after the walk, the church wrote in a Facebook post.

The Mason Mill Park stated that the DeKalb County parks, playgrounds, and trails are open for outdoor usage as they fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

The park's website emphasized that those who want to play and walk in the park could freely stretch their legs and take a breath of fresh air.

According to its website, the Mason Mill Park is a 120-acre forest with a network of some of the county's most beautiful hiking and bike trails.

The park also added that the Mason Mill Park, Medlock Park, Leafmore neighborhood, and Emory University are connected by the South Peachtree Creek Trail, a multi-use boardwalk, and paved route.

Within Mason Mill, Ira B. Melton, and Medlock Parks, it was said that a network of soft-surface trails gives miles of hiking opportunities.

The historic Decatur Waterworks, which is on the National Historic Registry, is also located in the forest, the park added.

Church Creates Innovative Ways Amid COVID-19 Threat

According to the church's website, the Morningside Presbyterian Church has been active in innovative ways during the pandemic.

The church's building has reopened to in-person prayer and programming as it re-emerges, with continuous COVID-19 measures in place, including the wearing of masks, it stated.

The Morningside Presbyterian Church highlighted that participants could join worship on Sunday morning by registering in-person worship on the homepage or watching a live stream on its YouTube channel.

The church said the public could view all of the events in the community of faith through weekly emails and on the church's events page.
