Neighborhood Church announces to remain gathering outside amid COVID-19 pandemic

The Neighborhood Church in Atlanta, Georgia, announced that it would remain its gathering outside the church before worship for snacks and conversation to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Nov. 4, the Neighborhood Church said the gathering would remain outside before the worship for snacks and conversation to remove face masks while eating and drinking.

The church, however, noted that it would then move inside for songs, prayers, scripture, message, and celebration around the table.

The Neighborhood Church announced the rate of community spread of COVID-19 in the area continues to decline. As the temperature drops, the Sunday worship pattern will vary gradually over the next few weeks.

According to the church, the musicians will be masked and perform in the chancel or stage area, away from the rest of the audience.

The church stated that it would take the communion elements outdoors after the service, as it has done in recent months.

The Neighborhood Church hoped that this change was comfortable and safe, and people are always welcome to be who and where they need to be on Sunday mornings.
