Freedom WKND at Prestonwood

Every year, students at Prestonwood gather for Freedom WKND to have meaningful conversations with anyone. They can also learn from professionals about everyday life topics, connect with new people, and worship together.

According to Missions Box, speakers including Marquise Cox, Tasha Calvert, Rob Wilton, and others addressed the children this year.

Almost 1,500 people attended Freedom WKND, despite bad weather forcing last-minute alterations.

It was also reported that 46 students made vocational ministry commitments, and 28 individuals decided to be baptized at the event. Also, Prestonwood has designed a program to help and guide students considering a ministry-related career.

Lori Rudd, a mom and a leader in Plano Campus, said that Freedom Weekend (WKND) refuels and energizes their walk with Christ by equipping and encouraging them to live out their faith and recognize that they are forgiven and set free in Christ from sin.

She added that freedom inspires people to serve the Lord and others in gratitude for what Jesus did for everyone.

"I also love that I get a chance to host my LifeGroup at my home; being in a different setting allows more time for application and fosters more transparency," Rudd continued, as quoted on the website.

Prestonwood students gather for worship and LifeGroup Bible Studies during the weekends to study the Bible and discuss how it applies to their lives.

The mission of Prestonwood students is to spread the gospel throughout their local area, the country, the rest of the world, and future generations. Further, they hope to acquire the skills necessary to develop a genuine and manifest faith and to love others out of a sincere commitment to Jesus, as revealed in the Bible.

Prestonwood students seek to make a greater impact for God by sharing the good news of what He has done in their own lives with others.
