Former Denver resident U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert recently shared a very controversial statement to defend gun rights for Americans.

During the recent Charis Christian Center event, the politician shared that if Jesus Christ had enough AR-15s, he would not have died.

As reported, this is quite an alarming belief from a U.S. representative who is great on the side of gun rights.

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert Sarcasm About Jesus' Death

Lauren Boebert, who recently lived in Denver, Colorado, said that AR-15s could have saved Jesus from crucifixion. She said that a lot of Twitter users are always using the name of Jesus when it comes to gun rights.

"They like to say: 'Oh, Jesus didn't need an AR-15. How many AR-15s do you think Jesus woulda had? Well, he didn't have enough to keep his government from killing him," said the official.

According to Yahoo News' latest report, the crowd simply responded with laughter.

Aside from including the death of Jesus Christ, Boebert also mentioned the first murder written in the Bible; Cain killed his brother, Abel.

Instead of saying the word murder, the U.S. politician said that Cain "canceled" Abel. But, she reiterated that the AR-15 or any type of gun was used for this crime.

She added that Cain used a rock to cancel his brother. Lauren used this to defend gun rights, saying that firearms are not the issue but the sinful heart of the people.

What Christians Think About Boebert's Statement

In the official YouTube post of Charis Christian Center, many Christians shared their opinion in the comment section.

One of the viewers said that the statement of the U.S. representative was absolute blasphemy. Meanwhile, other viewers commented on her statement regarding Cain and Abel.

They said that what happened with Cain and Abel should be described with the word "cancel." As of writing, gun rights in the United States are still a hot topic.

U.S. Gun Rights Expansion

According to the BBC's report, gun rights in the U.S. is now being expanded. The U.S. Supreme Court targeted a law in New York restricting gun rights.

The court claimed that the law violates the U.S. Constitution by forcing gun owners to provide a proper reason why they are concealing their firearms in public.

Because of this, some critics are now concerned that the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court can endanger the lives of non-gun owners.

Pres. Joe Biden also shared his disappointment with the decision, saying that it contradicts the Constitution, as well as common sense.

Meanwhile, New York Mayor Eric Adams clarified that they would find other ways to tighten the application process for buying guns to solve this current issue.

He added that New Yorkers couldn't be allowed to become like those in the wild, wild west. Currently, many U.S. residents are now questioning firearm rights since various mass shootings have happened across the country.

These incidents usually take place in schools and other places where there are a lot of children. Right now, the issue of gun rights is now up to the decisions that the U.S. government makes.
