A local Boulder church, Grace Commons Church, will soon conduct a benefit concert for the victims of the recent Marshall fire. Scheduled on Friday, Jan. 28, the so-called "night of music" will feature song performances from professional musicians in Colorado. Here's how to join the event.

Marshall Fire Benefit Concert

According to its Eventbrite page, the church located at 1820 15th Street in Boulder, Colorado, invites audiences for a ticketed concert. The event will happen from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm and be joined by professional guest musicians. Such personalities include violinist Gregory Walker and poet Dominique Christina.

As mentioned, Walker is one of the Coloradoans who lost his home due to the fire. To help with his neighbors, the violinist will perform the Theme from Schindlers List at the event. Meanwhile, Christina will present a story-telling segment from Stravinsky's Soldier's Tale.

As reiterated, all proceeds of the church concert will be given to the victims of the Marshall fire.

Those who are interested in watching the benefit concert can head to the church's Eventbrite page and purchase their tickets. The adult general admission tickets cost $25, while tickets for attendees under the age of 18 are at $5. BSMA students are free at charge.

Marshall Fire Assistance

As per its official website, the Grace Commons Church has already promoted a Marshall fire assistance program for its church members. A detailed website page is dedicated to steps on how to help the fire victims.

Those who want to donate goods and services are encouraged by the church to fill out a form wherein details of volunteers should be provided. The church noted that they are not accepting any clothing or bedding donations for now.

In cooperation with Samaritan's Purse, the church invites church members to volunteer as a sifter to help residents look for their precious belongings through ashes. The organization will reportedly provide for the materials and gears needed for the operation, as well.

Meanwhile, those who want to donate financially can head to the church's giving page, wherein donors can input their details.

Aside from looking for donations and volunteers, the Grace Commons Church also offers help to all victims of the Marshall fire. As advised, those who need extra clothes can go to the church's Deacon's Closet, open Monday-Saturday at various times.

Victims of the fire are also urged to fill out a request help form and send it back to the church for them to identify the needs of each individual. As promised on their website, the local church will respond as quickly as they can.

Victims Now Look for New Houses

According to CBS News, more than 1,000 houses and structures were destroyed due to the fire. Because of this, residents around Superior and Boulder are now finding it hard to look for their new homes.

Amanda DiVito Parle, a local realtor, confirmed this news. She said that due to the fire, a lot of people are down to "very few options" in real estate.
