Rev. Sara Lattimore, a graduate of the Iliff School of Technology in Denver, is the new minister of Three Forks’ United Methodist Church.

Lattimore reportedly replaced Rev. Aaron Strietzel, who served the church for less than a year.

Before being assigned to Three Forks, Lattimore served at First United Methodist in Lubbock, Texas, and at the Willow Creek United Methodist Congregation in Gallatin Valley.

According to Belgrade News, Lattimore came to the church to listen and learn about the community.

She also stated that she wanted to experience everything in the town, including its culture and the strong Ministerial Association at Three Forks.

In her new role as minister, Lattimore stated that she wants to equip and empower the church.

She envisions the Three Forks community and congregation to be well-rounded and to work

together to find a means to make everyone feel like a whole person. In this way, they can equip each other for the ministry.

Call to Ministry

Lattimore stated that the call to ministry had always been present. So, while on her road to being an attorney, Lattimore decided to stop and let the pulpit win over the courtroom.

She stated that ever since she was young, she felt that she had always been called to serve the church.

Witnessing where she is right now, she stated that it has been amazing to see how Jesus has led her in her journey.

With that said, she hopes to bring the hope and love of Jesus to the people around her.

Apart from her MDiv from Iliff School of Technology in Denver, Lattimore is currently working on earning a doctorate on global perspectives at Portland Seminary.

Arriving in Montana

According to Belgrade News, Lattimore, along with her husband, kids, and mother, landed in Montana late this summer.

In crossing Montana, Lattimore recounted that they stopped and took a photo in front of the town’s highway sign after stopping outside Sheridan in the Ruby Valley.

She also recalled how their first steps in Montana were quite the sight.

She narrated that as they crossed the border into Montana, they pulled their traveling circus over, which was no easy feat.

With her husband driving their U-Haul, her in the car with their kids and pets, and her mother driving her car, their arrival was not incognito, as she worded it.

Despite the eventful arrival to Montana, Lattimore and her family had quickly settled in.

In her new role as the head pastor, Lattimore stated that it has been amazing and welcoming.

On the other hand, her husband, Aaron, now works for the Three Forks School District, making use of his background in juvenile corrections.

According to Lattimore, her husband has always worked with students that needed extra attention. She is also blessed with a passion and gift for connecting with them.

With that said, she stated that he hopes to bring an impact there.

Meanwhile, her daughter attends an elementary school in town, and her son is at Three Forks High.
