Job Description:
We’re looking for an experienced Art Director to join our creative team! You will have the opportunity to work on a wide array of projects that range from brand identity to user interface design across a wide array of websites, apps and content. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Creative Director in achieving the goals and values of Woodlands Church leadership
- Manage and lead the design team; invest and develop their skills and abilities
- Design and illustrate a wide range of projects including our weekend worship experience, print media, promotions, web design and special ministry projects
- Attention to detail when creating clear and compelling pieces through print and digital mediums
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Grow and equip volunteers for the design team
- Oversee print shop operations including funeral programs and other printed resources
- Collaborate with our video, web, and social media staff to develop design solutions from concept to completion
- Seek out and foster working relationships with ministry leaders to bring projects to life
- Support peers and managers in raising the bar for branding and marketing excellence and provide ongoing professional feedback for work delivered
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- 4+ years’ experience in a graphic design environment or related field
- Portfolio illustrating a wide variety of design solutions
- Receptive to receive feedback and direction in the pursuit of excellence
- An understanding of design principles, specifically with typography and composition
- Willingness to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment with tight deadlines and fast turnarounds
- Proficiency in Adobe CC, with emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
- Understanding and experience in user-interface design for web and mobile
- Collaborative, flexible, goal-driven personality
