Title: Campus Minister
Supervisor: Principal
FLSA: Exempt
The mission of Campus Ministry is to foster student growth in the values of the Gospel. Students are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Jesus, the Incarnate Word, and are given opportunities to grow in their faith through religious studies, retreats, participation in the Liturgy, service projects and prayer services.
Hours: 7:30 – 3:45 Monday to Friday with occasional evening or weekend obligations

- Ensures that the mission and values of the Academy are upheld within the department.
- Gives witness to integrity and respect while representing Incarnate Word Academy in the broader community.
- Engages and becomes part of the Incarnate Word Academy community.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential and important responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following.
Champions spiritual life of the school
- Articulates Catholic identity of the school to faculty, staff, students and potential families.
- Encourages community among students and faculty and staff through participation in events such as Falcon Family events.
- Works closely with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator to update Campus Ministry pages on the school website, submit announcements for the Weekly Word and develops a monthly newsletter for student information.
- Educates students, faculty and staff about Catholic traditions and practices.
- Develops and implements a program that allows students to enter into the liturgical life of the Church in a meaningful way for teenagers.
Facilitates student engagement through Campus Ministry Team
- Coordinates selection and training process for Campus Ministry Team (CMT) members.
- Works with students to plan weekly meetings.
- Develops yearly plan for CMT programming such as social justice appeals (food drives, Christmas gift drives, etc.).
- Leads students in planning underclassmen retreats.
- Helps students plan school-wide prayer services at appropriate times such as Advent and Lent.
- Works in partnership with the Falcon Family program in planning yearly Foundation Day activities.
Coordinates School-Wide Liturgies
- Plans all-school Masses including scheduling priests and facility (approximately once per month and Holy Days).
- Trains CMT students in Liturgical Ministry as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Altar Servers, Lectors, etc.
- Works closely with the Choir Director to select music for each Liturgy.
- Prepares and coordinates Reconciliation Services during Advent and Lent.
- Coordinates Baccalaureate Mass.
- Organizes events for Catholic Schools Week which could include a lunch with the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament.
Coordinates School Retreat Program
- Plans underclassmen retreats with Campus Ministry Team students including overnight retreat for juniors and seniors.
- Plans yearly faculty and staff retreat with the support of the school President, Principal and the Theology department.
Facilitates Service Learning Program
- Organizes off-campus day of service each fall for Falcon Families.
- Develops and evaluates service learning requirements.
- Educates students on requirements, deadlines and value of service learning.
- Collects and tracks student service learning hours.
- Develops and leverages relationships with nearby non-profit agencies.
- Organize and plan an annual mission experience.
Archdiocesan Professional Development
- Attends conferences, workshops and retreats hosted by the Archdiocese such as Archdiocesan Youth Conference (AYC), etc.
Other
- Participates on the Principal’s Leadership Team and attends all team meetings.

. Requirements:
- Holds a bachelor’s degree or above in theology or Catholic studies from an accredited Catholic college or university.
- Is a practicing Catholic.
- Has a valid, state teaching certificate, has completed 12 credit hours in education courses or is in the process of completing this requirement.
- Is passionate about developing spirituality and servant leadership in young women.
- Thrives on a collaborative team which promotes daily brainstorming and creative thinking.
- Creates a campus ministry program that incorporates spirituality, activities to foster community and sisterhood among students as well as service learning.
- Embraces best practices for an effective teacher with the ability to engage high school students and use technology within the classroom proficiently.
