Refugee Resettlement assists in helping create a home-away-from-home, we assist government-approved refugees in becoming self-sufficient through cultural orientation, job development, family reunification and resettlement.


Join our Refugee Resettlement team as the Case Manager. The Case Manager I (Housing) is responsible for setting up safe and affordable housing for newly arrived clients. The Case Manager I (Housing) will also be responsible for developing positive working relationships with apartment complexes by making sure Catholic Charities provided rent is paid on time and that utilities have been properly set up. The successful candidate will be organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working with clients and staff who come from diverse backgrounds.


The Expertise We're Looking For:
High School Diploma or GED

  • One (1) year experience in an administrative setting or within refugee populations
  • Valid Texas driver’s license

You are able to demonstrate organizational and planning skills

  • You are able to demonstrate success in dealing with a various type of people
  • You are able to successfully document case notes
  • You are able to provide group and individual orientations for clients
  • You are able to handle confidential client information
  • You have intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills

What you Deliver
You work collaboratively with the Housing Coordinator to arrange housing for new clients, pre-arrival

  • You deliver rent checks to apartment complexes for the duration of the client direct-assistance time period for clients enrolled in one of the following programs: Afghan Parolee Assistance, Reception and Placement, Matching Grant

  • You assist Housing Coordinator with apartment set-up

  • You ensure that housing is suitable for clients and advocate for client housing concerns to leasing office, as needed

  • You coordinate moving clients from temporary housing to permanent housing

  • You assist clients to connect electricity and other necessary utilities

  • You update case notes in RMS to include housing assistance provided to clients

  • You track rental assistance provided to clients

  • You maintain list of clients who have moved into permanent housing and update Refugee Management Solution (RMS) with accurate client address

  • You communicate to relevant staff members when clients have moved to permanent address

  • You perform other duties as assigned
