PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Works closely with ministry leaders to develop programming that helps college-age young adults embrace Christ.
  2. Promotes OHC programming on the UTSA campus. Recruits campus core team. Maintains OHC student organization status at UTSA. Seeks and establishes other promotional opportunities at other local colleges and universities. 
  3. Recruits, trains, and retains volunteers.  Ensures all-volunteer screening is completed promptly before scheduling volunteers.
  4. Coordinates and facilitates weekly services such as volunteer assignments, worship, dinner, facility/room set-up, and speaking.  Assists in the development of programming.
  5. Partners with on-campus organizations to serve the student community (e.g., Freshman move-in).
  6. Partners with OHC Local and Global Outreach Ministry in service projects.
  7. Provides positive collaboration and serves as a strong team builder supporting all ministry events.
  8. Maintains new person information cards and responds to database connections and communications.  
  9. Attends and participates in departmental and staff meetings as required.
  10. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Two (2) years of college.
  2. Two (2) years of experience working with volunteer or community service programs or related fields.  Church ministry experience preferred.
  3. Experience can substitute for education.
  4. Current Texas driver’s license (Incumbents with out-of-state licenses must attain Texas licenses within six (6) months of employment).

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  1. Knowledge of Christian biblical foundations and principles.  
  2. Knowledge and ability in personal/ project management principles, administration practices, organization techniques, and methodologies.
  3. Knowledge and experience with budget development, expense tracking/reporting, and administration.
  4. Knowledge in relational intelligence, grace, and cross-cultural sensitivity.
  5. Knowledge of computer office applications and equipment.
  6. Knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary.
  7. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  8. Ability to develop leaders and team members for effective ministry.
  9. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through verbal and written means.
  10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and young adults.
  11. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, members, and ministry volunteers.
  12. Ability to plan, organize projects and prepare detailed reports and presentations.
  13. Ability to perform all the position's physical, intellectual, and analytical requirements, including decision-making.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Occasional lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds; visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and essential office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.  May occasionally be standing outdoors during campus promotions.
