JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
If working in a fast paced environment behind the scenes to make sure that every detail of an event is ready sounds like a great day, then this role might just be for your. Working in one of the largest churches in the Unites States as an Events Coordinator will challenge you to ensure that no little detail is overlooked. This role will have you working to prepare small group events for a team meeting to working out the logistics for church wide event that will host thousands of guests. You must enjoy events planning and coordinating knowing that your success is critical to the success of every event.
This position reports to the Special Events Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
Meet and work with assigned departments/ministries on all logistics for upcoming travel and events
Process work orders, purchase orders, receipts and respond to e-mails and calls
Maintain a positive working relationship with vendors
Manage assigned travel and set-up, tear down and follow-up processes for events
Responsible for ensuring all required contracts and guidelines are followed for each event
Provide customer service to all department/ministries
Assist Special Events Manager, Director or other Event Coordinators as needed
Handle sensitive, confidential information and assignments with tact, discretion, and diplomacy
Other duties as assigned

Regular attendance at Church services and classes,
Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and
Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time when needed by the Church
QUALIFICATIONS
Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church’s vision, values, and core beliefs
Proven experience as an event coordinator
Professional appearance and conduct
Strong communication skills-written and verbal
Excellent interpersonal skills and friendly disposition
Ability to multi-task, remain calm and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Attention to details and good problem-solving skills
Strong initiative and customer service orientation
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and other event planning software systems
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Some college preferred
Minimum 2- 5 years of experience in event planning
