JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Admissions, the Director of Admissions Operations plans, directs and coordinates the day-to-day admissions processing, transfer services, and technical operations for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Performs advanced management functions to ensure the effective development and achievement of strategic goals and objectives for the department.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
The Director of Operations Admissions will have a functional knowledge of multiple application platforms (ApplyTexas, Common Application, etc) as well as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology and be familiar with guidelines and best practices for admission processing of first-time in college and transfer applicants. The Director of Admissions Operations will have a successful track record of establishing and meeting department targets and goals while supporting a campus-wide strategic enrollment plan. The Director of Admissions Operations will have a thorough knowledge of admissions and enrollment technology to support an aggressive and comprehensive strategic enrollment plan.
Essential Duties Summary
- Assists in developing and implementing operating policies, procedures and/or guidelines for best practice admissions processing. Implements and maintains internal controls to monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and university policies and regulations.
- Plans, assigns and supervises the work of the Admissions Office processing staff, application processing, transcripts and test score submissions and admission correspondence.
- Supports Transfer admission operations including application processing and transcript evaluation services.
- Manages the department CRM and other admissions systems. Utilizes the CRM to develop and review admission trends and patterns.
- Identifies innovated approaches to enhance effectiveness of admissions operations and staff.
- Reports demographic and statistical admission data and trends to university leadership and other constituencies.
- Identifies staff development and training requirements. Ensures staff attends appropriate training workshops and seminars.
- Coordinates admissions operations with the Office of the Registrar, Office of Veterans Affairs.
- Provides support for the academic colleges and schools and administrative departments for admission data.
- Serves as a liaison with various University departments and offices, such as Information Technology, Financial Aid, Bursars, Institutional Effectiveness, and academic advising units.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

$63,840.00 - $79,801.00
Education
Master’s degree or higher from a regionally-accredited college or university.
Required Licensing/Certification
Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.

Work Experience
At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in admissions, preferably at the level of senior admissions or enrollment officer. Diversified experience in higher education, preferably in the areas of enrollment management and new student services.
