Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with West U Methodist Church in Houston, TX, as they search for their next Director of Youth Ministries. West U Methodist is a congregation located in the southwestern area of Houston, Texas, not far from the medical district and downtown.
The next Director of Children’s Ministries will work to plan and execute the daily programming of the children’s ministry by providing spiritual care for preschool and elementary-age children, and their families. The director will continue to expand the kingdom of God by reaching out to the community and promoting the ministry opportunities available at West U Methodist.
The ideal candidate:
Loves children and desires for them to grow in their faith through care and discipleship
Has excellent people, management, and communication skills
Is well-organized and detailed.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The families of West U are eager to grow and work diligently in support of the ministry opportunities provided by the church. A leader of high-capacity volunteers and high-capacity leaders is needed in this role. The church is poised with so many opportunities to reach the next generation with the exciting possibility of a growing relationship with Jesus. Quite literally, opportunity walks through the doors of the church building every single day. The position will be challenging, but rewarding as the right candidate is willing to put in the diligent work to capitalize on the ever-present opportunity to capture families’ attention and invite them into the journey.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, coordinate, and execute aspects of the children’s ministry
Write and/or select the appropriate curriculum
Recruit, train, develop, and support volunteers within the ministry
Assist the Recreation Manager with various after-school programs to meet and greet children
