About us
St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. We are a mid-size church who is steadily undergoing an ethnicity change from an Anglo community to a rapidly growing Hispanic community. Due to this and many other factors, our parish needs new and vibrant staff members who are willing to help our community with this transition, both in a spiritual and administrative capacity.
Summary:
The full-time Director of Religious Education (DRE) is responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of various catechetical programs and objectives established by the parish. The DRE will oversee and professionally manage Faith Formation Education programs and activities for all age levels including but not limited to Youth Ministry, CCE, sacramental programs, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), children with special needs, Vacation Bible School, Sunday Liturgy of the Word, adult formation, and education activities as well as any other activities assigned by the Pastor. This position will be responsible for collaborating with the Pastor and other clergy as well as other parish staff members. The DRE is responsible for establishing and implementing comprehensive curriculum and programs to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Faith and its teaching.
Education/Experience:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Religious Education or related field and have a Catechist Certification. A minimum of 2 years of experience in religious education and a minimum of 1-year supervisory experience is required. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to different age groups and backgrounds. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. The candidate must be able to communicate in English and Spanish. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
