The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports Lakewood Church by providing general facilities maintenance services, while maintaining the highest standards of excellence and professionalism, and processes to support the vision of the ministry.

This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

Essential Job Functions

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties such as: installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the facility, equipment, and vehicles according to safety, preventative, and proactive maintenance schedules
Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.)
Report to the Facilities Manager daily for work schedule and assigned tasks and maintain constant communication with the Facilities Manager while on duty
Process, complete, and respond to work orders as assigned by the Facilities Manager
Responsible for the timely completion of assigned tasks
Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems, and detect malfunctions, and needed repair, making notes and recommendations using a pre-established check sheet
Organizes and conducts testing with outside vendors of any applicable equipment or service while maintaining logs in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Ensures the timely and accurate completion of preventive maintenance activities, utilizing CMMS; maintains detailed record keeping in support of CMMS
Installs, maintains, and services small appliances such as ice machines, coffee machines, microwaves, washers and dryers etc. and logs the service in CMMS
Inspects vehicles in preparation for use
Operates forklifts, boom lifts and other equipment according to equipment safety standards and ensures certifications are obtained before use if necessary
Manage recurring general maintenance items or other assigned tasks
Organize and maintain assigned tools and supplies
Provide, when scheduled, Facilities Service Operations support during services and events
Assist with Lakewood Church Leadership or Executive requests as required
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church’s vision, values, and core beliefs
Strong maintenance background and familiarity with the safe use of a wide variety of hand tools and power tools
Working knowledge of commercial building maintenance
Knowledge of workplace safety practices and safe handling/lifting procedures
Ability to carry 50 pounds at least one hundred paces without exhaustion
Ability to work weekends and evenings for emergency repairs, inclement weather, etc. as needed
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, and other basic computer skills
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing with staff and the public
Professional appearance, conduct, work ethic, and interaction skills

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of general facilities maintenance eperience preferred
