Join the Refugee Resettlement team as a File Clerk. The Refugee Resettlement Department assists refugees in Houston to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to reach self-sufficiency and live with dignity. The File Clerk has an important responsibility within the Refugee Resettlement Program, the job of a file clerk is multifaceted and has high responsibility to protect client data and file organization. The file clerk will use current file system organization to maintain record effectively.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • One (1) year of experience

  • You must demonstrate organizational and planning skills

  • You must demonstrate success in dealing with a variety of people

  • You must have the ability to handle confidential client information

  • You must be proficient in MS Office Suites (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)

 


What you Deliver

 


  • You must maintain, complete clients’ files, and assuring completeness and compliance with funding requirements. Collecting appropriate income information to determine client’s eligibility for the Program. Requesting checks for client direct and vendor assistance. Scan documents to make electronic copies and ensure that both electronic and paper copies are maintained properly. Open new case files (hard files and database records) on Client Track database form, typing and photocopying COA and Refugee Resettlement department forms, checking for accuracy files and database entries, maintaining and ordering supplies, preparing and sending correspondence with STOR if problems with or In Client Track database occur, maintaining case service statistics. Keep work room organized and clean. Organize files into alphabetical order, enter data on Client Track, maintain consistent data records and close files when program is completed. Enter information of services for each client in RMS database and comparing data for accuracy with Client Track database.

  • You must ensure all new documents are entering into the data base accurately and within an appropriate time. Classify information logically based on, content, purpose etc. Clean and maintain files pace. Ensures all files loaned comeback and are filed correctly. Ensures no documents in the file are lost.

  • You must perform other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor.
