ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement the plans, activities and programming of the assigned ministry area, while providing ideas and feedback to leadership for continued ministry success
  • Create and maintain an environment where church members and guests feel accepted, safe and excited to engage with the church, each other and volunteers
  • Assist in volunteer activities such as recruitment, check-in, assimilation and follow-up
  • Ensure that the ministry area is set up and ready to receive members and guests
  • Receive and follow direction in implementing service programming, special events, and communication plans
  • Follow up with new visitors, in a timely manner and in keeping with the campus-wide assimilation plan
  • Invest relationally in assigned ministry area volunteers, new guests, and regular attendees through communication and in-person meet-ups
  • Assist in planning and carrying out quarterly events, seasonal programming, and ongoing activities, with keen input on day-of implementation strategies, in order to meet the relational and ministry goals
  • Ensure that all technical systems (computers, TVs, tablets, printers) are in place and properly working
  • Learn the RPC database and software systems and use it to provide support in attendance record keeping, managing active volunteers, and similar
  • Promote good financial stewardship by familiarizing yourself with the ministry area budget, and working within that budget to maximize the dollars spent
  • Contribute to the effort to maintain the ministry area and equipment, and make sure all repairs, fixes and needed improvements are promptly brought to the attention of departmental leadership and/or the RPC Facilities department
  • Work alongside other ministry areas for the greater mission of RPC
  • Communicate with members and guests regularly via email, social media and our website, to build relationships and inform them of ministry events, resources and programming which promote further engagement at RPC
  • May coordinate special support employees (part-time) through onboarding and recordkeeping including schedules and time-card submissions
  • In the absence of an Administrative Assistant (such as smaller ministry areas and personnel backup), assist with support duties such as calendaring, receipting, resource management and reporting
  • Complete tasks unique to supporting the assigned department / ministry area

 

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience

Experience: Minimum 2 years related experience

Computer Skills: Two+ years’ experience with technology is required including Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook. The ability to quickly learn new software is required.
