Join our team as The Learning and Development Specialist in the Human Resource Department! The Learning and Development Specialist will build human capital through employee development programs. The Learning and Development Specialist will design and develop training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, and clients. Utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS) the Learning and Development Specialist will develop a training checklist by position to ensure the accurate tracking of training completion and compliance with required periodic training. This position may coordinate or administer skill or competency assessments, career counseling, outplacement, and other specialized training or development programs for employees. The Learning and Development Specialist will consult with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. The Learning and Development Specialist will build the library of available LMS training as well as produce a calendar of annual in-person training. The Learning and Development Specialist will collaborate with HR Representatives, Directors, and Vice President of Programs to analyze current training and development plans with a consultative approach to improve the development of the employees.

The Expertise We're Looking For

 


  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • You have three (3) years creating and executing training curriculum for multilevel participants

  • You have one (1) year of administering a Learning Management System (LMS), preferably Paycom

  • You have valid Texas Driver’s License

  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • You have experience working with HR Information Systems

 


What you Deliver

 


  • You will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring effective management of the Learning Management System (LMS), including but not limited uploading content, creating courses & curricula, testing, assigning, maintaining, and reporting on learning content.

  • You will creates learning documentation, aids, and training materials for users. Creates and deploys reporting, onboarding and compliance surveys to track and measure participation in programs.

  • You will coordinate training and development programs, including new employee orientation, to meet the needs of individuals, programs, and departments.

  • You will stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in learning and development to continuously improve training programs.

  • You will develop and maintain relationships with third-party training providers to ensure that our employees have access to the best training resources.

  • You will coordinate and co-facilitates training programs with the agency’s approved vendors.

  • You will provide training and technical assistance to agency staff appropriate to assigned responsibilities.

  • You will implements and reports on the effectiveness of leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices.

  • You will evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to ensure they meet the needs of the organization.

  • You will utilize a variety of training methods, including e-learning, classroom training, workshops, and simulations to deliver effective training.

  • You will develop positions specific training checklists and timelines for completion.

  • You will develop and publish career growth opportunities for positions across the organization.

  • You will perform other duties as assigned.
