Faith, Sugar Land Church is conducting a search for our new Minister of Children, Families, and Outreach (MCFO). The MCFO is responsible for developing and implementing discipleship programs of care, evangelism, spiritual growth, and service opportunities for children (infant to 8th grade) and their families. He / she is responsible for recruiting, training, equipping, and developing leaders and volunteers working in the ministry. This full-time position requires a committed follower of Jesus who is ready to design and build a children and families ministry. This is a low supervision, high accountability position that requires a dedicated self-starter with experience in children’s and family ministry.

We are located in Sugar Land, TX., one of the most diverse counties in the United States. Our 10-acre campus has a school building, and a gymnasium and hundreds of families visit our campus weekly for sports programs. We have a newly renovated worship center and a fellowship hall.
The individual serving in this capacity will consider it as a calling from God, not a job to fill.
Responsibilities:
- Cast vision and set goals/objectives for Children’s and Family Ministry.
- Develop ministry teams to disciple children and families.
- Train and develop teachers and volunteers (including a system for vetting volunteers through background checks).
- Develop a custom mission approach to the hundreds of families who participate in sports programs on our campus, especially on Saturdays.
- Ensure intentional discipleship of children through providing a compelling mid-week ministry program that is fun for kids and their friends to get connected.
- Expose children and families to opportunities for service and missions, developing outreach-oriented ministries.
- Oversee parental partnership, providing tools to equip families to raise children who love Jesus and serve others.
- Oversee behavioral needs and challenges of children, communicating with parents.
- Create and implement the annual ministry budget.
- Reports directly to the Lead Pastor.
Basic Personal Responsibilities:
- Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, meditation, worship, and fellowship.
- Maintain proper priorities and spiritual goals in the home.
- Develop personal evangelism and discipleship opportunities within and outside the church.
- Financially support the ministries of the church by faithfully giving personal tithes and offerings.
- Attend conferences, and retreats and identify opportunities to grow as funding permits.
- Grow and develop as a leader and disciple-maker.
- Faith, Sugar Land Church is a member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. The MCFO must agree with foundational Lutheran teachings and understands that our vision is to reach people from all walks of life and faith backgrounds. This position can also be or grow into a pastor position, but this would need to be someone ordained in our denomination.
Prefer 5 + years of experience in children’s and family ministry.

Pay: $49,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
