Summary of Position:
This position leads and oversees Next Steps here at Gateway. This role is focused on making sure people don’t fall through the cracks whether in taking their next step in getting plugged in or in a tough time and needing help from the church. Here are some focuses and requirements for this role:
- Help people within the congregation to take their Next Step.
- Provide pastoral leadership to the creation, development, and ongoing direction of all aspects of Next Steps. This includes Growth Track, New Believer Follow up, Assimilation and Build Team. 
 
- Provide direct pastoral ministry to their teams, staff, volunteers and church members (as applicable).
- High people skills – good at gathering people and recruiting.
- As a young church, this position will include building and training a team, provide oversight to the formation of many of the systems needed to run these ministries on an ongoing basis.
- Candidates need to be self-initiating, entrepreneurial, and have administrative abilities.
- This role is for a strong leader of leaders with administrative gifts.
Next Steps: 
Next Steps refers to the ministry that oversees assimilating people from first time guest to members and into community at Gateway. Growth Track is the first step for every person and upon completion of Growth Track our hope is that people will connect to the life of the church through our Build Team and Groups. 
Growth Track:
- Overall leadership of Growth Track and our new member Assimilation.
- Leading volunteers who will run weekly Growth Track.
- Oversee Administrative processes to be sure people are taking their next step here at Gateway. This includes working alongside the Groups Pastor to make sure people find community.
- Plan, organize and oversee the weekly Growth Track.
Build Team:
- Overall Leadership of the Build Team.
- Manage the onboarding of all volunteers onto the Build Team.
- Help make sure people are on the right team and assist if they choose to switch to a different team.
- Administrate Planning Center Services for all scheduling of Build Team on a regular basis in conjunction with staff and Build Team Coaches.
- Plan gatherings for all Build Team with vision given from the Lead Team.
Planning Center & Communication:
- Oversee all processes in Planning Center Online as it relates to all aspects of Next Steps and Care.
- Oversee workflows for onboarding for all of the Build Team.
- Ensure all internal communication (email, texting, and PCO communication) happens on a weekly basis in conjunction with the overall external communications strategy.
Pastor Responsibilities:
- Weekly oversight with Oversight
- Provide Pastoral Care to members of Gateway Church when necessary. This includes Biblical Counseling, hospital visits, weddings, funerals, and other basic pastoral duties.
- Active leadership during weekend services.
Expected Meetings to Attend:
- Weekly Oversight
- All Staff
- Department Meetings
