Summary of Position:
The Outreach Pastor will oversee all outreach initiatives locally, nationally, and internationally. As a new church, this is an area of ministry ready to be strategized, developed, and launched. This role requires a missional and outward focused leader with a passion to see the local church make an impact in the community, share the Gospel, and reach the world. This role will focus on four main areas: Relational Partner Development, Leadership & Organizational Development, Mobilization, and Compassion & Outreach.

The ideal applicant will be entrepreneurial and visionary, yet able to execute the details of the ministry. They will also be highly organized and systematic as we create the foundation for Local and Global ministry. Experience in outreach is preferred. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must. This candidate must have a love for travel and a heart to connect with leaders locally and worldwide.

Principal Job Responsibilities:
Local Outreach

This position provides leadership and direction for all local outreach initiatives at the church, including outreach volunteers, community relations, ministry partners, and outreach events.

Work with Lead Team to create strategy around local outreach, ministry partnerships, city and School partnerships, and congregation mobilization.
Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers to support the outreach ministry.
Communicate regularly with outreach volunteers regarding events and serving opportunities.
Lead, plan, and execute outreach events (at least 4 per year) for congregational involvement.
Complete Impact Reports following outreach events and for ongoing partnerships.
Identify and develop Outreach Core Team.
Build and maintain relationships with outreach volunteers.
Develop and maintain relationship with community stakeholders and partners.
Develop and oversee the annual Outreach Budget (including expense tracking and reporting).
Coordinate with Groups team to develop plan for integrating local outreach into Groups.

Crisis Relief

From time to time, various natural disasters and unforeseen events occur that require the church to respond with resources, care, and volunteers. This position will oversee the distribution of resources, mobilization of volunteers, and partnerships with various disaster relief ministries.

Recruit and empower a Core Leadership Team who are ready to respond to needs that arise.
Create partnerships with ministries that can respond quickly and effectively after disasters and crises.
Develop a volunteer mobilization plan for crisis relief.
Create a strategy around stockpiling necessary relief supplies to be distributed quicky when needed.

Global Outreach

Our mission for Global Outreach is to equip leaders, ministries, and churches to fulfil the Great Commission. At Gateway Church, we believe that He has called the whole body of Christ to fulfill the Great Commission. We accomplish this call through intentionally building long-lasting relationships with fruitful and established leaders to partner with what God is already doing in the nations. We are at the beginning stages of setting up strategy and partnerships internationally to position us to make an impact with the resources God has entrusted to us. This position will begin to create the plan for long-term impact in the nations.

Ministry Relationships – One of the primary focuses of this role will be to establish relationships with ministry partners around the world and serve those we are in relationship with through engagement and a healthy schedule of field visitation.
Project Partnership – Find effective and impactful projects with trusted ministry partners that will help make an impact in our primary ministry focuses.
Work with the Lead Team to begin writing playbooks for our international strategy.
Select and implement a CSM for tracking all partner relationships and donations (For local and international partners).
Global Ministry Trips – This position will oversee the selection of all Global trips sent out from the church.
Leader Recruitment and Training – Find and train effective trip leaders.
Partner Relations – Working with the international partners to communicate, plan, and execute a successful trip for our congregants.
Create a playbook for all Global Trips.
Select and implement a software system for managing trips.

Pastoral Leadership

This role will function as a core member of the Pastoral Team here at Gateway. As such, they will be expected to attend weekly staff meetings, monthly pastoral meetings, and collaborate with all departments.

Serve on weekend ministry staff at all weekend services.
Serve as pastor on call as needed.

Provide Pastoral Care to member of Gateway Church when necessary. This includes Biblical Counseling, hospital visits, weddings, funerals, and other basic pastoral duties.

Preferred Education/Certificate

Education: College Degree
Experience: 5 years of experience in the field or a related area

Physical Capabilities

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
