SUMMARY OF POSITION
The School Director's primary responsibility is to serve as an effective administrator of the preschool and focus on advancing the school's mission to provide high-quality learning experiences and faith formation of preschool-age children and their families. The Director will collaborate with church and community leaders to develop, improve, and implement early childhood research-based best practices. The ideal candidate will incorporate the mission of the school and the church into one unifying vision and have a heart to reach out to families in the community.

BCUMCS is identified as a United Methodist Children's Center and serves under the Texas

Annual Conference We Love All God's Children initiative that supports the spiritual, literacy and health development of children. This position works closely with the Senior Pastor, Church

Responsibilities
Continuous awareness of educational research-based trends and developmentally appropriate best practices in early childhood with a philosophy that is compatible with the goals of the preschool
Maintain strong working knowledge in emergent literacy, and District Kindergarten standards, benchmarks, etc
Commitment to Christian-based, ANTI-BIAS, and developmentally appropriate programs
Knowledge of the church's purpose statement and facilitate the preschool's role in helping to fulfill the church's purpose
Create synergy between the church congregation and the preschool by participating in church related leadership meetings to promote a healthy communication between the school, the church, and the community
Foster an atmosphere of cooperation, teamwork, and mutual respect between preschool families, the school, teachers, and church personal
Build mutually beneficial partnerships and networking opportunities with leading local and national organizations
Meets and maintains the minimum State Licensing Requirements of Texas Health and
Human Services: Child Care Licensing for the State of Texas
Manage the daily operations and budget analysis of a successful preschool

Requirements
Minimum two (2) years in Preschool or licensed Child Care Center, director/assistant director preferred
Possess a Director's License issued by TX CCL meet one criteria in 746.1015(1)-(7)
College Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education Degree with special study in Early Childhood Education and special training in the field of early childhood education (CDA) (preferred)
First Aid and CPR is required
Position subject to successful background and fingerprint check
Qualifications
Work experience as director/assistant director in a licensed child care program, preferred
Knowledge of Texas Child Care Licensing (CCL) standards
Well-versed knowledge of Workforce Solutions Child Care Subsidies
Must have a strong interest in and a developmentally appropriate understanding of young children with a philosophy that is compatible with the goals of the preschool
Skills
Proven Organization and Communication Skills consistent with both preschool children and adult needs
Organizational skills for growing, mobilizing, and maintaining an effective team and program
Strong written communication skills and cross-cultural sensitivity preferred
Proficient Computer knowledge: Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, PDF
Website maintenance knowledge and experience
Communication skills in marketing, advertising, and social media
