Ashford Child Enrichment Center (ACEC) is a Christian based outreach of the Ashford United Methodist Church. ACEC is currently looking for a preschool teacher to teach in our 3-year-old classroom. The teacher position is a 5 day, Monday thru Friday, work week from 8:45am-2:15pm. The school year starts at the end of August and goes through May of each year. ACEC follows Houston Independent School District’s (HISD) school calendar with a few exceptions.
Responsibilities
- To Provide a loving, nurturing, safe, accepting, and respectful environment offering age-appropriate preschool play and exploration.
- To be able to work with another teacher and share responsibilities, such as lesson planning, providing daily opportunities of doing arts and crafts, structuring the classroom to be a place of controlled play throughout the day.
- Loves working with children
- Energetic with a fun personality
- Help children reach appropriate age developmental milestones
- Needs to be patient and flexible with changes.
- Self-disciplined leader in the classroom
- Able to sit in a child-sized chair, get up and down from the floor and willing to get messy with hands on projects.
Education
- Prefer some college experience and/or degree. Does not necessarily have to be in Education.
- Will receive teacher training, however some prior experience working with children would be beneficial.
