Kidslife

As one of Lakewood’s largest ministries, Kidslife, our children’s ministry, is entrusted with creating an engaging and interactive space for kids from infant through elementary ages to learn sound Biblical foundations. Modeling the traits of an energetic people person and the managerial skills of a seasoned leader, the Senior Director of Children’s Ministry is responsible for providing effective leadership and direct oversight of the Kidslife staff and volunteers of Lakewood Church. The ideal candidate will have the ability to create a culture that nurtures and supports the spiritual development of our families, as well as the skills to develop and direct programing in alignment with the mission and the vision set forth by the Senior Pastor.
This position reports to the Associate Pastor of Ministries.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervise, motivate, train, develop, and provide clear direction to Kidslife leadership team, staff, and volunteers
Provide vision for Kidslife in alignment with the vision of Lakewood Church
Continually create and cultivate innovative ways to enhance the family experience at Lakewood Church, inclusive of an environment that is nurturing and spiritually developing
Incorporate an innovative culture throughout all Kidslife programs and events
Ensure relevant and appropriate use of social media content on our targeted platforms
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with Kidslife ministry staff with a focus on their overall well being, development, and team unity
Provide weekly updates on the ministries overseen
Oversee all Kidslife childcare programs inclusive of classes and special events
Provide programs and content (in-person and online) that support our families’ spiritual development
Oversee the successful recruiting and onboarding of new volunteers
Ensure clear, timely communications to Kidslife staff and volunteers as appropriate
Oversee the effective execution of all children’s ministry special events
Ensure child safety training standards are met by all Kidslife staff
Ensure the implementation of appropriate sanitation and safety protocols within Kidslife environments
Manage the planning and reconciliation of the Kidslife ministry budget
Participate in staff meetings, events, conferences, and workshops
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Associate Pastor of Ministries
Ministerial Duties/ Responsibilities
As an Employee of Lakewood Church, you are a part of an over 60-year legacy of faith. As a part of the Lakewood team, you are a key part of our mission in taking the Hope found in Jesus to the world. This means that as part of your job responsibilities, you are considered a spiritual leader in the Church. You are responsible for communicating the Church’s beliefs and our mission to our congregants, to maintain a lifestyle consistent with the Scriptures, and are you required to belong to the Church as part of our faith community. This will also include:
Regular attendance at Church services and classes
Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church
Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time when needed by the Church
QUALIFICATIONS
Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church’s vision, values, and core beliefs
Growing and committed follower of Christ, demonstrating a Christ-like character
Passionate about serving and ministering to kids, staff, and volunteers
Experience in early childhood education, child development, and/or childcare is a plus
Skilled in effective leadership, administration, encouragement, and development
Highly skilled in vision casting, planning, and appropriate delegation
Excellent listening and communication skills
Experience in effective budget management
Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
Excellent interpersonal skills and problem resolution skills
Experience in navigating Microsoft office, and video conferencing
Familiarity with Planning Center or similar platforms a plus
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Some college or college degree preferred
Minimum of 4 years of management experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pastoral or ministry leadership role
