JOB DESCRIPTION
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for tracking mail, and maintaining accurate records processing incoming and outgoing mail and shipments and freight.
This position report directly to Supervisor
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment
- Prepare goods for shipment, determining appropriate method of shipment utilizing the most suitable shipping procedures, routes, and rates
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications, including palletized shipments for fulfillment warehouse
- Track delivery status on all outgoing shipments as needed
- Completion of shipping reports daily
- Maintain purchase orders and packing slip files
- Receive, unpack and examine incoming shipments; record shortages, with notification to shipper and accounting to rectify any damages and/or shortages
- Deliver received items to appropriate departments
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies and post office supplies
- Deliver 5gal. water bottles to designated locations
- Operate a forklift and electric pallet jack
- Assist with tour preparation, delivery, and return inventory check-in as assigned
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church’s vision, values and core beliefs
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with a team
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent Customer Service skills and friendly disposition
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, identify priorities and organize efficiently to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with shipping software (i.e. UPS World-Ship, FED-EX, DHL, and USPS Shipping Assistant a plus)
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate effective time management skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Requires High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior Shipping & Receiving experience a plus
