We seek a flexible, teamwork-oriented, creative part-time Social Media Operations Coordinator. A successful candidate will have one to two years of related experience and excellent technical and communication skills. The Social Media Operations Coordinator is responsible for building a following on all company social media platforms, engaging with customers at store locations and on social media, and analyzing social media trends that would engage the company’s target market. This role will also assist in supporting the operations.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston (SVdP), is a grassroots, volunteer-based, direct-aid organization that brings together men and women to grow in their spirituality through the service of others. We have been serving the Greater Houston area since 1871. We are part of a national organization linked by the joint mission of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Build a following on social media by regularly posting text, videos, and images that engage our target market
  • Follow online conversations on a company’s social media accounts and solve customer concerns using social media platforms
  • Identify social media events such as exciting hashtags and share appropriate content that aligns with the company’s social media strategy
  • Create engaging content that aligns content with customer trends and market changes to interest and engage our target market
  • Regularly post items for sale on social media market sites such as Offer Up, Mercari, Poshmark, Facebook Marketplace, and other platforms to gain exposure and bring in new customers
  • Assist in covering various areas to stay engaged with the process so you can tell our story firsthand
  • Utilize multiple software platforms to track programs such as food and donations

Qualifications:

  • An associate degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred or working toward a bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • One to two years of related experience in using social media to meet organizational goals and marketing campaigns
  • Skills in using social media platforms and knowledge of social media analyzing tools required
  • Ability to use digital technologies to meet the goals of marketing campaigns
  • Must have an understanding of the trends and techniques of social media and how to use them effectively
  • The ability to organize tasks to meet deadlines is essential for this role
