Purpose: The Summer Camp Art Counselor is responsible for leading art activities and projects for children ages 6-13. The counselor will be responsible for planning and implementing art activities that are both fun and educational.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead art activities that are age-appropriate
- Prepare and set up art supplies and materials before each activity
- Supervise and assist children during art activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times
- Encourage creativity and self-expression in the children
- Clean and maintain the art area
- Collaborate with other counselors and staff to ensure a fun and safe camp experience for the children
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalent certification
- Experience working with children, preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge and skills in a variety of art techniques and mediums
- Good organizational skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Passion for working with children and encouraging creativity
- Must be able to pass a background check
Physical Demands:
- This job may require standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time
- This job may require lifting or moving art supplies
Working Conditions:
- This job will be performed in a summer camp setting, both indoors and outdoors.
Hours:
- Full-time, typically Monday-Friday
- Work will begin May 2023 and continue until August 11, 2023.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: From $11.50 per hour
