Title: Technical Arts Specialist

Reports To: Direct Report – Technical Arts Director (2ndLevel Report: Dir. Of Communications)

FLSA Status: Full Time, exempt

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related filed or Assoc. Degree with equivalent work experience.
  • Technical:Proficient in both knowledge and usage of audio hardware and editing software (Pro Tools or other DAW), live and recorded audio techniques, and various stage setups. Comfortable with various technologies and desktop software (i.e. Microsoft Office, Windows and macOS, cameras, wireless RF devices, basic networking, cabling, etc.).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in communications related field (preferred).
  • Personal Attributes:Must have excellent interpersonal skills with a strong work ethic, ability to multitask with sharp attention to detail. Must have a firm belief in Christ and commitment to the UBC mission.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Live audio engineering for both Traditional and Contemporary worship services (onsite and online live streams) and other events as assigned.
  • Audio post production for UBC podcast, music recordings, video projects, and other projects as assigned.
  • Setup and teardown of audio equipment and gear for events and services.
  • Programming and maintenance of Dante audio network (certification to be obtained upon hiring).
  • General maintenance of various audio/video/lighting equipment throughout the building.
  • Operation of ETC lighting technologies.
  • Assist with leadership and coordination of UBC Media Team through appropriate interactions with staff, mentorship and ministry to volunteers, and fostering a healthy team atmosphere.
  • Staying up to date on Tech Arts calendar, as well as communication with staff and outside groups on technical support needs.
  • Assist Tech Arts Director with team financial reporting, check requests, and inventory management.
  • Research and understanding of trends in audio/video engineering, new equipment, digital technologies, wireless devices, etc.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Internship

Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
