Cardinal Timothy Dolan has recently led the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the ArchCare facility at Mother Cabrini Hospital. It was formerly known as the Specialty Hospital for Children.
The ArchCare facility has significantly extended its space and introduced innovative modernizations to maintain its standing as a leading hospital for youthful people.
New ArchCare Facility
In an article from Catholic New York, Cardinal Dolan blessed and celebrated the opening of ArchCare at Mother Cabrini Hospital on Oct. 4 with a special Mass.
Cardinal Dolan said they are blessed and grateful that Mother Cabrini Hospital's ArchCare has undergone such a remarkable transformation. According to him, this will allow them to assist more families who depend on the care they offer at the facility.
With the addition of 16 beds, ArchCare at Mother Cabrini Hospital has significantly expanded, bringing the total number of beds in the institution to 72, as reported.
The facility has been completely expanded to 31,000 square feet over two stories for $23 million.
Moreover, the facility's enhanced infection control features will include negative pressure rooms and improved ventilation.
In addition to the new feature of the new facility, a new electronic medical records system (EMR) will permit wireless vital sign transmission to resident records. Beds will also be equipped with technology that will automatically upload some vital signs to the EMR.
It is reportedly the archdiocese's health care system. It is the only facility of its kind for seriously challenged children in New York.
ArchCare at Mother Cabrini Hospital will offer "unparalleled comprehensive treatment," according to Scott LaRue, president and chief executive officer of ArchCare.
LaRue said that the hospital serves a significant role in the NY community, especially the families who cannot afford high-end hospitals because their children need treatments that cannot be managed at home.
The Catholic Health Care Foundation, and New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, are all in partnership.
They are together with the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, which also contributed to the establishment of ArchCare at Mother Cabrini Hospital.
As mentioned, Children and young adults with severe neurological impairments and other complex medical disorders are the primary focus of ArchCare at Mother Cabrini Hospital.
The hospital is reportedly located at ArchCare at Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center, 1249 Fifth Ave. at 105th St.
