Trinity Church Wall Street, Episcopal Relief and Development get described as ‘true friends’ after sending help to Haitian communities

A local Haitian shared how the Trinity Church Wall Street and the Episcopal Relief and Development sent help to Haitian communities during the 2021 earthquake.

'True Friends'

According to an article from the Trinity Church Wall Street website, Ernest Cajuste, the senior program officer of the Episcopal Relief and Development and a local Haitian, shared how his grandfather used to tell that Trinity Church Wall Street and the Episcopal Relief and Development were 'true friends' for helping the Haiti community to stand again after the 2021 natural calamity.

The Trinity Church Wall Street and Episcopal Relief and Development reportedly assist the victims of the 2021 earthquake such as food, and medical care, even in the communities that are hard to reach.

Also, the two organizations aimed to strengthen the community's disaster resilience for future aftershocks and circumstances.

As of this time, through the support of the two organizations, the community was able to create an association of local organizations that are mainly designed to give immediate support to the community, as reported.

The organization has reportedly given cash assistance to households who are at risk, tents, mobile clinics that will cater to the health care needs of the community, and emotional support for educators and learners.

2021 Earthquake Haiti Response

In a report from the Episcopal Relief and Development website, the Trinity Church Wall Street gave a $500,000 grant to the Episcopal Relief & Development for Haiti's 2021 earthquake relief and recovery.

The 7.2 magnitude earthquake destroyed the Haiti community on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, and was reportedly followed by a typhoon which caused mudslides and damage.

As a response, the Episcopal Relief and Development distributed emergency cash assistance to over 20,000 people in the affected areas of the community. 

The other was reportedly used for providing the basic needs of the affected families and was used for the long-term project for the vulnerable families.

Other funds were used by the organizations to help the families recover from the calamities.
